VoFG Teacher Champion +1 Award  


This award is designed to recognise and celebrate the exceptional contributions of educators who not only leadthe VoFG competition at their school but also demonstrate remarkable initiative in encouraging other schools to participate. 


By actively promoting the VoFG competition in their community and mentoring other educators, these outstanding teachers create a ripple effect, expanding the impact of the competition and empowering more students to express their voices. 

Who is eligible to apply for the award?

Any teacher or school coordinator in the UAE involved in running the Voices of Future Generations competition and We Write Programme at their school, whether in government or private education, including teachers of students with special needs.

What are the guidelines?

  • Applications open January 2025 and must be completed by the mentor teacher.
  • Only the first application received will be considered, so be sure to include all relevant information and attachments.
  • Follow the focus points shared in the application to ensure successful submission.
  • Upload additional supporting evidence, such as photos, videos, and documents.
  • The deadline for applications is April 30, 2025.

How is the award evaluated?

The award is judged based on the following criteria:

  • The creativity demonstrated in the proposal submitted by the mentor teacher or coordinator, particularly how it leads to the successful introduction of a new school to the Voices of Future Generations (VoFG) competition.
  • The concrete steps the school takes to support the teacher's efforts and initiative.
  • The mentor's role in assisting the mentee teacher with the registration of students, guiding their writing process, providing quality resources, and ensuring stories are submitted on time.
  • Feedback on the impact of the VoFG Programme on both schools, particularly in terms of enhancing creative writing skills and understanding the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
  • Feedback from story sifters on the quality of submitted stories, with quality being assessed by how well stories align with competition criteria, theme, genre, and the innovation of their solutions.
  • Shared evidence that supports all claims made.

What is the Prize?

  • The prize includes recognition for the mentor teacher and the school, with an award that highlights their contributions to the (VoFG) competition at the VoFG Teachers' Awards Ceremony.
  • The winning teachers will receive prize money as follows: AED 10,000 for mentor and AED 5,000 for mentee, along with certificates of achievement, public recognition through media, and acknowledgement at VoFG events.
  • Additionally, the school may gain opportunities for further development in creative writing.
