Best VoFG School Integration Award 

To recognize a school that has demonstrated exceptional commitment to promoting sustainability and children’s rights by successfully integrating the Voices of Future Generations Writing Competition into their curriculum and wider school culture. 


This award allows multiple people within one school community to share equal credit. The submission should be made by one teacher or coordinator on behalf of multiple people within the school and it will be evaluated as a team effort. 

Who is eligible to apply for the award? 

We accept applications from teachers or school coordinators in the UAE involved in running the Voices of Future Generations competition and We Write Programme in their school, whether in government or private education. This includes teachers of students with special needs. One application coordinator should submit the entry on behalf of the group. 

What are the guidelines?   

  • Applications must be completed by the application coordinator.   
  • Once the application has been submitted, no additions or edits are permitted. Do make sure the application is complete with all relevant information and attachments before submission.   
  • Follow the award criteria shared to ensure successful submission.   
  • Upload additional supporting evidence, such as photos, videos, and documents. 
  • The deadline for applications is 30 April 2025. 

How is the award evaluated? 

The award is judged based on the following criteria: 


  • Curriculum integration (30%) 
        Assessment of how well the school integrates sustainability and children’s rights themes into subjects like English, Social Studies, Science, Arts,  
        and more.
        Evaluation of how students explored these themes through creative outlets such as storytelling, poetry, essays, or digital media. 
        Review of the incorporation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and children’s rights in lesson plans and classroom discussions. 
  • Student participation and diversity (20%)
        Efforts to encourage participation from students of diverse backgrounds, including those with varying abilities. 
        Promotion of collaboration and knowledge sharing among students from different grade levels, working together on projects aligned with the 
        competition’s themes. 

  • Community and environmental impact (20%)
        The school’s engagement in local environmental or community based initiatives related to sustainability or children’s rights,either through the 
        competition or in complementary activities. 
        Collaboration with local organisations, NGOs, or environmental groups that support and strengthen the competition’s goals.
        Evidence of lasting impact or initiatives inspired by the competition, such as school gardens, recycling programmes, or student-led projects.

  • Innovation in approach (15%)
        Innovative and creative approaches to teaching sustainability and children’s rights, including hands on learning, outdoor experiences, and virtual 
        exchanges.
        The use of digital tools and platforms to enrich learning and increase student engagement with the competition’s themes. 
        The uniqueness and creativity of the school’s initiatives in bringing the writing competition to life through presentations, exhibitions, and school-
        wide events. 

  • Whole school culture and awareness (15%) 
         Evidence of how the entire school community, including staff, parents, and external partners, embraced sustainability and children’s rights. 
         Initiatives and activities that continued beyond the competition, fostering a long-term commitment to these values. 
         Opportunities for students to assume leadership roles and advocate for sustainability and children’s rights within the school community. 
  • Shared evidence that supports all claims made
        

What is the Prize?  

  • The prize includes recognition for the teachers and the school, with an award that highlights their contributions to the Voices of Future Generations (VoFG) competition. 
  • Winning team receives a prize money of AED 8000, certificates, public acknowledgment in media and the VoFG events.
