The VoFG Gazette

Meet Our Editor-In-Chief
Mir Faraz

Dearest Reader,

It is my honour and privilege to welcome you all to the Voices of Future Generations Gazette!

Voices of Future Generations Middle East is far more than just a writing competition – it is a community of like-minded changemakers and visionaries, who know that their voices hold the power to change the world. VoFG acknowledges the fact that young people have the potential to make a difference, and it provides them with an extraordinary platform to amplify their voices.

VoFG’s admirable endeavours to educate young children about sustainability, hone their writing skills, and help them share their views on a worldwide scale never stop – and this newsletter is the latest feather in VoFG’s splendidly decorated cap!

The goal of The VoFG Gazette is to educate, entertain, and inspire. It is a testament to the ingenuity and creativity of young minds. And as mentioned before, it is a milestone in the storied journey of Voices of Future Generations Arabia – a journey which started when the initiative was brought to the UAE in 2019, for which we thank Her Highness Sheikha Hissa bint Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Goodwill Ambassador for VoFG in the region.

Teamwork makes the dream work – clichéd but true!

I have deep appreciation for everyone on the team. Our mentor, our guide, and the captain of the ship – Ms. Shama Noman, advisor of this newsletter, our content curators and managers, designers, and my wonderful assistant editor Saira Thomas.

And of course, thank you to YOU, dear reader, for showing support to the newsletter and giving it a go.

Led by Young Voices, Powered by Purpose

Led by the Young Voices of Arabia published authors, the VoFG Gazette opens doors to fields such as journalism, reporting, and research — empowering students to expand their horizons beyond creative writing. The newsletter serves as a dynamic platform to engage our growing community of writers and nurture their development, ensuring that their creative journeys are continuously supported. Through this initiative, participants build strong research, editorial, and organizational skills, develop the ability to collaborate within diverse teams, and gain hands-on experience with digital tools and platforms for professional content creation and delivery.

School Collaboration

At the heart of the VoFG Gazette is a commitment to school-wide collaboration, where students, teachers, and leadership teams come together to nurture a culture of sustainability through storytelling. By encouraging joint participation across grades and departments, the newsletter becomes a space to document and celebrate each school’s unique initiatives — from eco-clubs and awareness campaigns to student-led research and green innovations. These collaborations not only strengthen community spirit but also inspire a shared sense of responsibility toward building a more just and sustainable future.
