Mir Faraz
Editor-In-Chief
Mir Faraz is passionate about empowering young voices and promoting a sustainable and inclusive world, having been conferred with the Diana Award and the Global Good Canon Young Champion of the Year Award. He is also a two-time winner of both the Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award and the Sharjah Award for Educational Excellence. An avid reader, writer and orator, he has led and contributed to various platforms and initiatives to harness the power of words to create meaningful impact.

Saira Thomas
Assistant Editor
The pioneer Gold Medallist from VoFG Arabia, Saira Thomas, is an author, editor, and sustainability advocate championing youth action on the SDGs. As a Child Author and Advisory Board Member at UNESCO VoFG CI, Councillor at the Global Youth Council, and Youth Ambassador for The Goals Project, she inspires youth to create real-world impact. A 2024 Junior Editor for the international journal Harmony, Saira has been widely recognised for her sustainable storytelling and commitment to a greener future.

Aditi Gandhi

Aditi Gandhi is passionately engaged in diverse leadership and enrichment initiatives that reflect her commitment to fostering growth within her school and community. She has spearheaded school-wide campaigns focusing on sustainability, wellbeing, and innovation. Aditi is also a published author, trained classical singer, avid debater, and creative thinker.

Advika Gupta
Content Head-Editing and Proofreading
Driven by a passion for purposeful storytelling and sustainability, Advika Gupta combines creativity with leadership to inspire change. She is a published author, Editor-in-Chief of her school’s newsletter promoting student voices, and CEO of the Sustainability Action Team. A Top 4 Global Finalist for Student Journalist of the Year (YJI – 2024), she champions environmental awareness and youth empowerment.

Inaya Danish

Inaya Danish is a passionate environmentalist from Bloom World Academy. As the proud head girl of her school, she strives to raise awareness about global issues and inspire action for our future generations. She is a recipient of the Diana Award for her work. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis and volleyball, reading all the books she can get her hands on and spending time with her friends and family.

Mohammed Hamdan Siddiqui loves conceptualizing new ideas and creating unique designs. Always ready to take a different approach, he strives to enhance the imaginative and creative aspects of his work. He looks forward to challenges and his creativity makes The Gazette interactive, upbeat, and enjoyable for kids.

Jaivardhan Nawani is a passionate researcher and published author. As the winner of the Sharjah Award for Educational Excellence, he uses his strengths in voluntary work, oration, and authoring to leave a lasting, positive impact on students by spreading awareness through well-proofed and edited content. He aims to inspire unrecognized literary talents and cultivate a new generation of leaders through his work and initiatives, and helps keep our articles concise yet informative.

He has honed his skills in writing , speaking and collaboration through organizing events and affiliations with Round Square and Generation Global. His creativity and leadership have earned him accolades in various competitions, reflecting his commitment to excellence.

Mohammed Hamzah Siddiqui

Mohammed Hamzah Siddiqui’s interests span a wide range from history and historical fiction to science and fantasy, providing him with a broad and creative outlook. Being a part of his school’s Advanced Learners Program in both English and STEM, he continually strives for growth and excellence.

Avika Singh is a young poet, reader, and writer who breathes through stories. Her words earned first place in the Emirates Literature, Culture, and Tourism Letter Writing Competition 2025 and recognition in Hindi at the Antarashtriya Raj Bhasha competition. She leads a school writing club and performs her own monologues. Writing helps her understand the world and shape it.

A classical vocalist and guitarist whose world moves to the rhythm of words and melody, Shravni Nethra believes that art holds the power to heal, connect, and transform. Acclaimed VofG Silver Award honoree and STEM Champion, her editorial vision intertwines creativity with conscience — using storytelling to echo sustainability, celebrate harmony, and remind us that art endures through purpose.

Inayah Fathima Faeez

Inayah Fathima Faeez is an ardent writer from Gems United Indian School, Abu Dhabi. Inayah hopes to encourage SDG 11-Sustainable Cities and Communities as she believes development should be long lasting and benefit the generations to come. She enjoys exploring science and math theories, watching sports, and reading various genres. Inayah hopes to pursue engineering in the future, alongside writing novels and poems.

Sashini Manikandan

Sashini Manikandan, Head Girl of DPS Sharjah, is a recipient of the Sheikh Hamdan Award for Academic Excellence and the Sharjah Award for Educational Excellence. Passionate about environmental sustainability, she was selected as one of the top 30 youth climate ambassadors for COP28. A published author and journalist, she contributes regularly to UAE magazines, advocating for change through writing.

She has spearheaded green initiatives, awareness campaigns, and youth projects focused on climate action and responsible living. Through her writing and leadership, she inspires young people to engage in purposeful action for a more sustainable future.

Joshua sees the inherent beauty and art in the fabric of the world, from the rocky mountain landscapes to the intricate patterns of a butterfly’s wings. That abiding passion ignites a burning commitment to protect the intrinsic loveliness of our planet, devoting himself to raising awareness through sustainable projects, notably winning the ‘Simply Bottles’ Challenge with his school.

Nuha Danish

Nuha Danish is an 11-year-old avid reader from Arcadia Global School, who can read anywhere and loves creating art. She won first place in the BSME Art Competition across the Middle East and, as Head of Environment, led a school-wide BIC Art initiative to raise awareness about recycling. A passionate environmentalist, Nuha enjoys playing netball whenever she’s not reading or drawing.

As a creative designer, Sophie is dedicated to translating the SDGs into colourful adventures and interactive visuals, sparking curiosity and empowering young readers to explore, understand and act on global challenges. Sophie is a published child author with a genuine passion for positive change. She believes every creative idea is a step toward a better future, and she’s excited to bring that vision to life.

Madiha Javed is a passionate young writer, environmental advocate, and founder of the Free Library for all, an initiative that promotes reading and learning. She loves expressing her ideas through writing, focusing on environmental initiatives and the power of literature to inspire change. Madiha has received both international and national awards for her philanthropic and literary work. Through her words and actions, she aims to build a greener, kinder, and more educated world for everyone.

Mustafa Alrawi
Advisor
Mustafa Alrawi is a British-Iraqi journalist, writer and broadcaster. He is a regular contributor to The National, Axios.com and Monocle Magazine and Radio. He has interviewed renowned individuals such as comedian Trevor Noah, Pulitzer Prize-winner Daniel Yergin and inventor Tony Fadell. Mustafa was an inaugural First Chapter ELF Seddiqi Writers’ Fellow in 2022.
